LAWRENCE – When individuals and families face challenges, they may not realize help is available if they know where to turn. With a goal of connecting Greater Lawrence residents with a wide variety of service providers, the 6th Annual Community Resource Fair is planned for August 15th.

Sponsored by the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Inc., the Community Resource Fair features non-profit organizations, local businesses and government offices offering assistance with education, financial services, health, housing, social services, job training, youth activities and other issues.

“We are pleased to connect individuals and families with not only GLCAC’s 16 programs, but also our fellow service organizations.  The Resource Fair is a fun way to educate families about the services available to help them overcome their challenges.  We are proud to sponsor this annual tradition, and we are grateful for the strong support we receive from the City of Lawrence, our non-profit colleagues, and our friends and neighbors,” said Evelyn Friedman, Executive Director of the GLCAC.

The fair will be held 1-4 p.m., August 15th at Campagnone Park in Lawrence.

Space is available for non-profit organizations and Lawrence businesses interested in reserving space at the fair. They can contact GLCAC at (978) 681-4920 to obtain a registration form and information.  Organizations should provide their own table or rent one from GLCAC for a $10 fee.

GLCAC is a social services agency that annually assists about 32,000 individuals in Lawrence, Methuen, North Andover and Andover with 16 programs. GLCAC’s wide range of services, from heating assistance to daycare, focus on lifting families out of poverty and setting them on a pathway to economic stability.
